In a move to enhance the knowledge and skills of cooperative members across the region, Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), through its Training Services Office (TSO), signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) for the implementation of the Masterclass Program on Cooperative Development Management, held at Heroes Hall, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, on October 23, 2025.
The agreement seeks to capacitate and upskill cooperative officers and designated personnel in promoting sustainable and effective cooperative governance.
In his message, Dr. Ranie B. Canlas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension, expressed gratitude for the partnership and highlighted the university’s commitment to advancing cooperative development through education and collaboration.
“We are one with CDA in making sure that we place emphasis in Education, Training and Information in our organizations. This is part of our mandate, but more importantly, it is in our hearts and embedded in our sensibility to share knowledge and skills and multiply its effects so that we can create a better society,” Dr. Canlas remarked.
Representing Pampanga State University alongside Dr. Canlas were TSO Director Dynah D. Soriano and TSO center managers and specialists, including Aileen P. De Leon, Mike Haizon M. David, Jose Joseph C. Soriano, and Jacquelyn C. Magno.
Meanwhile, the CDA delegation was led by Regional Director Marieta P. Hwang, Board of Director Asec. Abdulsalam A. Guinomla, and Supervising CDS Carolina M. Miguel, together with other CDA personnel.
The MOA signing marks the strengthened collaboration between Pampanga State U and CDA in professionalizing cooperative development efforts and highlights the importance of institutionalized education and training in advancing the cooperative movement.
