“Gender equality is not just a women's fight—it is everyone's fight. A society where women thrive is a society that flourishes for all.”
These words concluded the speech of Dr. Lora L. Yusi, Director IV of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO3), who served as the resource speaker for Don Honorio Ventura State University’s (DHVSU) Culminating Program for the 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration. The event was held at the Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Center on March 21, 2025.
Dr. Yusi commended the women of DHVSU, recognizing them as phenomenal and encouraging them to pursue their dreams, emphasizing that dreams have no gender and that leadership is not exclusive to men.
“The phenomenal women of DHVSU, take that seat. Claim that position you have worked so hard for. Chase that dream and run with it, no matter how many people tell you you’re reaching too high. Because the sky does not belong only to men—it belongs to anyone who dares to fly,” she declared.
DHVSU actively participated in the National Women’s Month celebration through various events held across its campuses, colleges, and offices, culminating in a video presentation showcasing these activities during the program’s final segment.
“We have created spaces for women to succeed and be celebrated. Let us commit to building a future where every woman is empowered to rise, live, and inspire,” stated Engr. Reden M. Hernandez, Executive Vice President, in his welcome remarks.
The month-long event was led by the DHVSU Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), headed by Dr. Dolores T. Quiambao, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services and Director for GFPS.
Additionally, the program featured the awarding of the GADParangal winners, recognizing outstanding contributions to gender and development initiatives in celebration of National Women’s Month.
