“Sustain to develop, develop to achieve goals not for yourselves but for the world.”
These words concluded the lecture delivered by Dr. Mildred M. Crisostomo, Director of the Office of International Partnerships and Programs (OIPP), during the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Awareness and Literacy Seminar for student leaders of Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), held at the University Hostel on November 13, 2025.
Dr. Crisostomo served as the first resource speaker for the event, which gathered student leaders from various student organizations, colleges and campuses of Pampanga State U.
The activity aimed to broaden student leaders' understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and encourage them to integrate these global goals into the university’s programs, projects, and activities, thereby contributing to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
“This gathering provides a valuable opportunity for us to deepen our awareness and strengthen our commitment to sustainability — not only as a concept, but as a way of life and leadership,” said Dr. Gloria B. Gigante, Director of the Office of Student Affairs, who delivered an opening message on behalf of Pampanga State U Executive Vice President Engr. Reden M. Hernandez.
The two-day event demonstrated Pampanga State University’s continued dedication to developing responsible, globally minded student leaders who are prepared to promote sustainability and drive constructive change in their local communities.
