
Following the recent bomb threat incidents in various schools in Pampanga, including Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), university officials held a consultative meeting with the Bacolor Municipal Police Station (BMPS) at the Board Room Extension on October 7, 2025.
The meeting focused on addressing the safety and security of the Pampanga State U community by strengthening its stricter implementation of threat response protocols, procuring additional security equipment, and establishing enhanced coordination procedures between the University and law enforcement authorities.
The meeting was attended by Engr. Reden Hernandez, Executive Vice President and concurrent Vice President for Administration and Finance and Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ranie Canlas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension; Rhiziel Manalese, Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Office (OSHO), along with OSHO staff; Angelito Quito, Director of the Management Information Systems Office; Jun Espiritu, Head of the Civil Security Unit; and PMAJ Jessie James Domingo, Chief of BMPS.
“Upon seeing the bomb threat message posted on Facebook, the University immediately implemented safety and security measures in accordance with its Emergency Response and Crisis Management Protocol to ensure the protection of all students, faculty, and staff,” Manalese said.
She also shared how the relevant offices, such as the OSHO/DRRM and Civil Security Unit, promptly carried out their respective roles in line with the approved procedures and measures pertaining to the bomb threat incident.
Overall, the initiatives, led by the Pampanga State U President Dr. Enrique Baking, aim to strengthen trust, safety, and resilience within the University community.
