To formally pay tribute to Dr. Lora L. Yusi, Director IV of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 3 (CHEDRO-III), as she transitioned to her new assignment, Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) hosted a tribute ceremony alongside the distribution of checks to Tulong-Dunong Program (TDP) and Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) scholars, which was held at the University Auditorium on November 14, 2025.
The event gathered education leaders from various higher education institutions (HEIs) in Central Luzon, where Dr. Yusi received inspirational messages from select university and college presidents who attended the activity.
“Before I leave Region III, I want to say goodbye to each and every one of you. I cannot imagine myself just leaving every one of you without proper notice. I feel leaving my heart that I hope with you if only I have the time I was wishing and wanting that I would go to schools and magpa-paalam ako sa mga presidents,” Dr. Yusi mentioned in her speech.
Dr. Yusi will now serve as the newly appointed Director IV at the CHED Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance in the CHED Central Office, where she will oversee applications for autonomous status, accreditation applications, and institutional assessment accreditation.
“During my stay at the regional office, we received regional assignments. We mind your assignment at CHED Central Office. This is my commitment: you will receive national support,” Dr. Yusi added.
As Dr. Yusi transfers to the Central Office, Dr. Maura Consolacion D. Cristobal will assume the new role as Regional Director of CHEDRO-III.
Meanwhile, the distribution of checks to TDP and TES scholars was handed to various representatives of each HEI.
“If you remember August 28, that was our payout in the same venue,” Dr. Yusi said. “And then we have a timeline, and we said that most likely, if you cooperate with us and send your liquidation on time, we don’t have to wait for 90 days. And true enough, today is another blissful day because, based on our records, we will be releasing checks for all of you because that’s our commitment.”
Included among the TDP and TES beneficiaries are more than 1,000 students from Pampanga State U.
Representing Pampanga State U at the event were Dr. Enrique Baking, university president; Engr. Reden Hernandez, Executive Vice President, concurrent Vice President for Administration and Finance, and Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Dolores Quiambao, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services; Dr. Dolores Mallari, University Registrar; and Richard Briones, Director of the Office of Admissions, Counseling, and Testing Center.
