Demonstrating its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and transformative governance, the Pampanga State University (PampangaStateU) Administrative Council, led by University President Dr. Enrique G. Baking, participated in the 2025 Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Midterm Convention and General Assembly held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City from July 9 to 11, 2025.
The convention gathered around 1,000 delegates from 113 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across the country.
Anchored on the theme “Forging the Future: Empowering SUCs through Innovation, Sustainability, and Excellence,” the event featured key sessions on national policies and strategic initiatives to strengthen SUCs. Discussions centered on strategic investment, digitalization, human capital development, sustainability, global competitiveness, innovation-driven research partnerships, and transformative governance.
“This convention is not only a gathering of minds, but a celebration of our enduring unity, our hard-won accomplishments, and our forward-looking aspirations,” Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, PASUC president, stated in his message.
The conference centered on the vital role of universities in shaping inclusive and empowered futures through quality education and transformative research, especially in the face of emerging national and global challenges.
“We are here to exchange insights, chart strategic directions, and foster collaborations that transcend individual campuses and regional boundaries,” Dr. Ronquillo added.
Joining Pres. Baking in representing PampangaStateU are Engr. Reden Hernandez, Executive Vice President; Dr. Dolores Quiambao, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services; Dr. Ranie Canlas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension; Engr. Jun Flores, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture; Dr. Eddiebal Layco, Director of the Planning and Development Office; Engr. Rowel D. Waje, Director of the Office of Physical Plant and Facilities; Dr. Dynah D. Soriano, Director of the Training Services Office; Rhiziel Manalese, Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Office; Rozen G. Alfonso, OIC- Director of the Floridablanca Campus; and Mariefel Capili, Faculty Association President.
The event reaffirmed PampangaStateU's active role in national policy discourse and its unwavering commitment to excellence through meaningful engagement with the broader SUC community.
