Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) officially opened its 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children (EVAWC) and the four-day 2025 Intramurals simultaneously on November 25, 2025.
The dual celebration began with a campus-wide parade where faculty, non-teaching personnel, and students donned orange, the global color of the anti-violence advocacy, as a visible sign of solidarity and festive spirit.
Following the parade, the opening program was held at the Dr. Ernest T. Nicdao Sports Center, where the EVAWC portion was spearheaded by the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), in collaboration with the University Student Council. The GFPS is led by Dr. Dolores T. Quiambao, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services and concurrent GFPS Director.
“It's not about the orange, it's not about the festivities; it’s our commitment to eliminate violence against women, children, and all genders,” said Dr. Quiambao in her message of support.
Following this, the 2025 Intramurals ceremony started, with colleges showcasing their athletes and muses during the remainder of the parade. This was followed by the oath of participation, the torch relay, and the lighting of the cauldron to officially signal the start of the competition.
Pampanga State U Executive Vice President Engr. Reden M. Hernandez articulated the core values being instilled in the athletes as they engage in the various sports activities in his message.
“Here, we learn as a team as we train, resilience as we rise from setbacks, teamwork as we rely on one another, and leadership as they take initiative and make decisions under pressure,” said Engr. Hernandez.
“The true measure of a champion is not only found in trophies or scores, but in humility, integrity, and respect for others,” he added.
This year, The EVAWC Campaign carries the theme “Let’s Make Juana and Juan as One” and will run from November 25 to December 12, 2025, where various offices, campuses, colleges, and student organizations will conduct activities designed to educate, engage, and support this advocacy.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Intramurals, themed “Unleashing Potential, Amplifying Strength, and Championing Unity Across the University,” will conclude on November 28, 2025.
