To unlock deeper and more robust insights into the importance of technology for high- quality Physical Education (PE), Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), through the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) program of the College of Education (COE), hosted the 4th Research Conference on Physical Education (RCPEd) on November 15, 2025, via Zoom Meeting.
Anchored on the theme “Synergizing Human Potential and AI for the Future of Physical Education Research,” the conference brought together students, researchers, faculty members, and experts who gathered to showcase their innovative studies and share best practices in the field.
In his welcoming remarks, Pampanga State U Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension, Dr. Ranie B. Canlas, represented by Julius Ceazar G. Tolentino, Conference Chair of the 4th RCPEd, emphasized the transformative power of research.
“I hope that this platform given to you today will provide enough inspiration to continue engaging in research because your ideas can be realized—and can become beneficial and impactful to our society,” Dr. Canlas said.
The event featured a rich program of plenary discussions and parallel paper presentations, providing an ideal platform for participants to connect with universities across the Philippines.
Ramon Carlo E. Masagca of the College of Sports, Exercise, and Recreation at Bulacan State University delivered the first plenary presentation titled “The AI Coach: Use of AI in Exercise and Training Prescription.” This was followed by Dr. Riomar G. Obliopas, Assistant Director for Research and Development Services at Eastern Samar State University, who discussed “AI-assisted Research Writing: Harnessing AI Potential in Advancing Scholarly Works.”
Meanwhile, the paper presentations were organized into six thematic streams, structured as follows:
- Stream 1: Digital Technology and Wearable Devices in Sports

Judge: Asst. Prof. Jet C. Longakit (Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology) - Stream 3: Sports Equipment Innovation and Sustainable Design
Judge: Dr. Jordan M. Pocaan (Sorsogon State University) - Stream 4: Health, Wellness, and Fitness Assessment
Judge: Dr. Louie P. Gula (Visayas State University) - Stream 5: Physical Education Pedagogy and Inclusive Practices
Judge: Dr. Janette C. Magalona (Philippine Normal University-Visayas) - Stream 6: Training Interventions and Performance Optimization
Judge: Dr. Jocelyn A. Floresca (Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University)
The 4th RCPEd was organized in partnership with the Pampanga State U Research Management Office and the College of Sports, Exercise, and Recreation of Bulacan State University.
