For its very first run in giving back to the community as it celebrates its 80th anniversary, Unilab Inc., in partnership with the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) Faculty Association (FA), provided free physical exams and health screenings for DHVSU faculty members and select employees at the University Auditorium on February 28, 2025.

DHVSU is the first state university in the Philippines to benefit from Unilab Inc.’s corporate social responsibility initiative under the ‘Alagang Unilab’ mission.

“This is a regular thing [sa Unilab]—giving back to the community... As part of Alagang Unilab, we’re doing this as corporate social responsibility para makapagbigay pabalik sa community kung paano lumaki ang kumpanya,” Joey Bautista, Unilab Assistant Manager, said in an interview.

Bautista is hoping to maximize the partnership with State Universities and Colleges like DHVSU because teachers have a soft spot for their organization due to its contribution and influence on the community and students.

“We’re hoping na this will be a regular event. Kung ‘yung ‘Alagang Unilab,’ sabi nila, they will be providing us a partnership to be able to do this—hopefully every year—because I think this is a good opportunity for faculty members,” Mariefel Capili, DHVSU-FA president, stated.

Unilab Inc. targets 80,000 patients to benefit from their project this year as they roll out the campaign nationwide.
