To uphold ethical integrity and promote equity in research practices, Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), through its Research Management Office (RMO) and Library Services Office (LSO), in collaboration with the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) Office, conducted an equity-focused seminar for faculty researchers at the University Hostel on December 3, 2025.
The seminar, titled “Promoting Equity through Research: High-Impact Publications Plus Spotting Predatory Journals and Choosing Publication Venues,” aimed to equip participants with essential tools to strengthen the quality, reach, and ethical grounding of their scholarly work.
Dr. Jessie S. Barrot, Assistant Vice President for Research and Development of National University, served as the resource speaker for the event, offering in-depth insights on current trends in academic publishing and emphasizing the growing importance of equity-centered methodologies in producing impactful research.
The seminar was attended by RMO staff, including Director Dr. Robin Dimla; LSO staff, including Director Suzette Macaspac; and faculty researchers from various colleges and campuses.
The event concluded with an open forum, giving participants the opportunity to raise questions, seek clarifications, and engage in meaningful discussions that reinforced the seminar’s key takeaways.
